Before choosing a hosting company to host your website, you need to determine your needs.

• How much disk space and bandwidth will you need for your website?
• Is your website static (no interaction)?
• Will your website have forms for visitors to fill out that get e-mailed to you?
• Will you have a database that stores data either for your website or for your visitors?
• Will you need e-commerce capabilities?

There are many website hosting companies out there. There a few things you need to find out from your provider before selecting a hosting plan.

• How much disk space is provided?
• How much bandwidth is available? What are the fees if you go over the allotted amount?
• When is maintenance performed on the web server?
• Is there any time the web server where your site is hosted will not be available?
• How often is the server backed up?

If you are unsure, or plan to upgrade your site with additional capabilities in the future, select a company that offers all of the above. You can always upgrade your service at a later time.
